| Bio: | I'm a freelance copyeditor in the scientific, technical, and medical market. I specialize in journal work, with particular emphasis on transplantation, oncology, and infectious diseases. I also edit books in fields such as critical theory and fossil studies for major university presses. In my daily work, I write style sheets, edit documents, and prep manuscripts for typesetting. I am also an independent scholar in the fields of SF literature and media studies, with several publications to my credit. Most recently I coedited, with Kristina Busse, Fan Fiction and Fan Communities in the Age of the Internet. I am currently working on articles about fans and making/writing history; and fandom as a gift culture. I'm currently the academic program coordinator for SFRA 2008; a SFRA Review coeditor (with Craig Jacobsen); and a Transformative Works and Culture coeditor (with Kristina Busse). I'm active in fandom under a pseud. Although I write fanfic, mostly slash, in several fandoms, my primary fandom is one of the Star Treks, and I help run a fanfic archive, a mailing list, and a virtual season. | ||||
